FOCUS at CSU

St. John XXIII and CSU are blessed to have a vibrant FOCUS team. FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, is a national Catholic collegiate outreach whose mission is to share the hope and joy of the gospel with college and university students. Trained in Church teaching, prayer, sacred Scripture, evangelization and discipleship, FOCUS missionaries encounter students in friendship where they are, inviting them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accompanying them as they pursue lives of virtue and excellence. Through Bible studies, outreach events, mission trips and one-on-one discipleship, missionaries inspire and build up students in the faith, sending them out to spread the good news and to live out the Great Commission: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations (Mt. 28:19).

Our Approach

  • To Know, Love and Serve God | We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
  • To Build Virtuous Friendships | By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
  • To Teach Others to Share Christ | We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.

    • Student Outreach

    • Bible Studies | A great way to encounter God and strong communities. Bible studies are offered in small groups at all different times.
    • National Conferences | Once a year at the beginning of January, FOCUS hosts a national conference that brings thousands of students from all over the country together to pray, learn, and be sent out to evangelize their campus.
    • Varsity Catholic | It is important to have people walk with you on your journey who can understand what you are going through. Focus missionaries who are also athletes can walk with Ram Catholic Athletes on their journey.
    • Focus Greek |While Greek life can provide many amazing opportunities, it can sometimes be difficult to grow in faith. FOCUS knows this and desires to serve the Greek students and recognize what a blessing Greek life can be.
    • Retreats | Focus offers retreats each year locally in Colorado that students from CSU and other campuses can attend. These retreats not only help students grow in faith they also give them an opportunity to meet other Colorado students.
