First Reconciliation and First Communion take place in the 2nd grade. We offer a dynamic program that involves both weekly classes and family participation in the home.
The weekly 2nd grade religious education class provides children with foundational catechesis on the teachings of the Catholic Church, foundational knowledge of the Bible and its key stories, moral development, and character growth.
Preparation for 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion take place at home, since parents are the best teachers of their children, and because children model develop their religious sense from modeling it on their parents. We equip parents through regular meetings to help them teach their children about confession and the Eucharist, and by providing retreats for parents and kids twice a year. We also provide fun and engaging work books that the children and parents work on together to guide them in their growth of understanding about these sacraments.
If you are interested in learning more about our curriculum, methods, philosophy, or to sign your child up for our Sacramental Preparation program, please use the contact form to get in touch with Jessica Harris, the program director.
